Study Religion Abroad
The University of
California offers many opportunities for students to study abroad. In
2002-2003 more than 3,000 UC students are expected to study at over 140
institutions in 34 countries. The
Education Abroad Program offers both short term and full-year
programs. The Program for the Study of Religion encourages its students
to study abroad!
Studying Abroad and Program Requirements
Because of the
difficulty in finding equivalent courses, all Majors and Minors are
required to take RELI 110A or 110B and RELI 112 or 113 at UCSD. However,
upper-division electives taken abroad may be approved for credit
through petition. Please remember that any electives taken MUST BE UPPER
DIVISION to count for credit toward the major.
To begin the
process, please come into the office prior to going abroad with any
information you may have on courses that will be taken abroad. Any
courses approved for the Program are done so only on a temporary basis.
It is the student's responsibility,
while abroad, to provide the Program with course information
received from classes in host country. This information can be emailed
to religion@ucsd.edu.
Upon return, please
come to the office and petition any classes you wish to apply toward the
major/ minor.
